- 1. Speak as though you have a well-trained, medically sophisticated scribe behind a curtain in the examining room.
- Scribematic will only pick up the words you say and will not capture gestures or maneuvers that are not verbalized.
- 2. Talk to your patient as though a nurse is in the room and you are communicating a plan of care or information required for disposition and follow up for the nurse to prepare, execute or follow up on.
- 3. Although Scribematic can capture the visit information in any order, call out the category whenever possible to help Scribematic find the right place to put the information (i.e., “Okay. Let’s do a physical examination now…”)
- 4. Talk to your patient in a way that will enhance your Patient Experience scores.
- Repeating or paraphrasing (with medical terminology and explanation) demonstrate active listening, patient education and respect for your patient.
- Remember that key components of engagement include informing the patient of the plan of care, expected time to complete the various steps and your conclusions based on your observations (assessment, differentials, treatment alternatives and presumed diagnosis).
- Include a discussion of any other conditions, related or unrelated to the chief complaint, that you have considered or intend to manage.

1. Initiate a recording of the clinician dictating a note into the computer.
2. After dictating your notes, select 'finalize.'

Use natural commands during dictation like ‘Make a new section called “Labs”’. The AI is adept at understanding and following such directives.
Traditional dictation commands such as 'period' or 'new line' are unnecessary, as the AI will intuitively format the text for you.
